Nikolofeiern are social events with friends. In contrast to the Christmas festival that is celebrated as a family festival, Nikolofeiern among work colleagues and club members like to be celebrated. Conservatives have had in the past often opposed the Santa Claus as an American marketing invention and only the "Christ child" required as appropriate traditional indigenous alternative.
